Ellen Barnes Obituary

Ellen passed away at age 83 on February 13, 2024. She was born in Erie, PA and attended Academy High School & Thiel College. Ellen retired from teaching as the Department Head of foreign languages at Sodus Central Schools. She was a longtime resident of Fairville, Newark, Wayne County and was a devoted member of and president of many groups, including Beta Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa International and Retired Teachers Association. She also loved being a part of the Monday Club.

Ellen is predeceased by her husband Phillips Barnes; parents Audrey & Carl Ohman and sister Diane Ulrich. She is survived by her stepdaughters Lisa & Amy; grandchildren; sister Judy (Joseph) Glennon and Susan Miller; nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be private.
