Greece: Age 75, went to heaven peacefully, in the presence of family, on November 15, 2020. She was deeply loved and forever will be missed. Kathy was an amazing person who had a huge heart, was a strong advocate for her children and their success, was extremely forgiving, and had an amazing sense of humor. She was a loving grandmother known as "Grandma Apple", and treated her grandchildren with love and adoration. Kathy had deep feelings for all of her friends and family.
Kathy loved wildlife. At one time in her life, she would leave food on the deck for all the wildlife, and it wouldn't be uncommon to see raccoons sunbathing on the railings, squirrels looking in the windows waiting for their nuts, or chipmunks waiting for a handout. When Kathy was younger and healthier, she loved spending time in her vegetable garden, as well as with her beautiful flowers which made her the envy of everyone who lived nearby.
I her younger years, Kathy enjoyed singing in a country band with Dave Christie, who later became the love of her life. Unfortunately Dave died young, but the picture of them together never left her side in her home and was by her side when she passed to Heaven. Heaven has gained an amazing woman.
Kathy is survived by her children Heather Hillyard, Holly (Craig) Hall, Raymond (Anita) Chappell, and William Chappell; grandchildren Nicole, Krista, Willow, Megan, Kara, Billie, Dylan and Gabe; brothers Michael (Joanne), Kenneth; nieces and nephews Eric, Kristen, Matt, Amanda; long-time best friend and caregiver Patricia Yonkoski. Kathy is predeceased by her parents Evelyn and William Putnam; brother William Putnam; and the love of her life Dave Christie.
Per Kathy's wishes no service will be held. Kindly consider a donation to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in her memory.
