Suzanne Harper Obituary

Suzanne Marie Harper passed away peacefully at home in Hamlin, NY on July 17, 2022 at the age of 72. She is survived by her children, Dale (Wendy) Bloodworth of Alexander City, AL, Amy (David) Hofstra of Hamlin, NY; daughter-in-law Billie Bloodworth of Mena, AK, grandchildren, Sydney (Zack) O'Bryant of Muscle Shoals, AL, Shelby Bloodworth of Alexander City, AL, Samual, Rebecca, William, and Sarah Bloodworth of Mena, AK, Coty, Mason, Hanna, and Austin Broskin of Hamlin, NY, Anthony McClaire-Hofstra of Gates, NY, David, Kaleb, Johnathan, Vincenzo, and Isabella Hofstra of Brockport, NY and Paige Hofstra, Chance Webster of Hilton, NY; her great-grandson Kade Broskin of Hamlin, NY; sister H. Patricia Creviston of Springfield, IL; brother L. Joseph Schmitz (Shin Hwa) of Darien, IL and Mary (Toni) Rolando of Springfield, IL; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Bloodworth of Mena, AK; both of her parents, Leonard F. Schmitz and Helen K.(Nation) Schmitz of Springfield, IL; brothers, Michael E. Schmitz of Springfield, IL and Ralph M. Schmitz of Gahanna, OH.
Suzanne was born in Springfield, Illinois to Leonard and Helen Schmitz, the fifth of six children. She attended Little Flower Church and school and Sacred Heart Academy, graduating in 1967. She married and divorced twice having two children in her first marriage and one in her second. Suzanne was an army wife in both marriages and worked in a civilian clerical position on base. After the her second marriage and birth of her daughter, Sue moved to Kendall, NY. She worked for Kendall Central School district as a bus driver for special needs children 29 years until she retired. Sue loved to spend time with her family. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, and teaching her grand kids about various birds and all the phases of the moon. She was a friend to many and her door was always open to anyone that needed her. She would gladly offer a cup of coffee, a listening ear, or one of her famous hugs that could fix anything.
At Suzanne's request there will be a celebration of life event in her honor, details will be shared by her family at a later date.
