Moore, Paul L.

Greece:  Paul passed away November 25, 2017 at the age of 84.  He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years Carol Taylor Moore.  Paul is survived by his daughter Kimberly (Anthony) Thomas, sons Kevin (Ruth) Moore and Lawrence (Ida) Quamina; grandchildren Tierra Moore, Cupid Chatman, Justine, Vanessa and Taylor Moore, Cullen Quamina; great-grandchildren Layla Quamina, Kendell and Savannah Moore; brother Thomas (Florence) Moore; sisters Jean Kenny, Jacquelin Hopkins (Roy), Judith Henry and a host of many other nieces, nephews and relatives.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11 am at St. Lukes St. Simons  Cyrene, 17 South Fitzhugh Street, Rochester NY 14614

Paul was a graduate of East High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S.  Army. Afterwards, he returned to school and attained a Bachelor’s degree from Fredonia State College. Later on in his career, he achieved his Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Rochester.

Paul began his career at Rochester Children’s School Nursery (Rochester Children’s First Network) as a Pre-School Teacher. He then worked 30 years in the Rochester City School District, first working at School #44, then the Director of Pre-School Programs. He advanced to Administration and became the Principal of Josh Lofton Jr. and Sr. High School. During this time, he continued to be a champion for children and families through his participation on the board at Rochester Child First Network and Oregon Leopold Day Care Center. After his retirement, he continued to serve on both boards and work part time at the Rochester City School District’s Central Office location. He loved to cook and was an avid gardener. He enjoyed yearly trips to Florida to visit family and friends with his wife. Family was his center, and he was very proud of all his grandchildren.
