Barbara J. Chanda

On May 17, 2026, Barbara passed away peacefully at age 70, in Newark, NY. She is predeceased by her parents Joseph & Barbara Cronin; sisters Joy Cronin and Jodie Grasso. 

She is survived by her children Jennifer (Andres) Scerra, Robert Chanda, Shannon (Shawn) Chanda & Alicia (David) Chanda; grandchildren Xavier, Hailey, Zoe, & Gavin; sister Joanne (Dan) Kelley; nieces Michelle and Jackie; nephew Michael; her animal children Freyja, Percy, and Odin, and many extended family and firends. 

Barbara was loving, caring, and she knew how to make each person she met feel important. She had a soft spot for animals, and she was always there to lend her ear and assistance to anyone in need. She loved her family and she will be missed. 

There will be no formal services.
