Carmen Hoyt Obituary

Daughter of the late Allen W. and Doris L. (Wright) Holmes, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020, during emergency repair of an abdominal aortic aneurysm at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. Carmen was born in Presque Isle, Maine on October 1, 1943. She went to school in Fort Fairfield, Maine and lived there until she relocated to Upstate New York in 1987. In her youth, she loved to spend time in New Brunswick with "Maggie and Mike" Wright.  It was there that her passion for all things horses began.  She loved Elvis and puzzles and was more Of a talented artist than she knew. Some may have thought Carmen to be shy and reserved, but to those who knew her well, she let loose a candid sense of humor and a laugh that will be greatly missed.

She is survived by two daughters, Sabrina Hale of Auburn, NY and Rhonda  Kauffeld of Roulette, PA; one brother Alden Holmes and one sister, Loretta York, both of Presque Isle; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Carmen was predeceased by four brothers, Bailey, Leonard, Orin, and Robert; two sisters, Audrey Wortman and Lucille Baker.
