Douglas Malone Obituary

Douglas James Malone, passed away from complications of Agent Orange, at home on May 22, 2023 with his loving wife of 44 years, Yvette, by his side.

Douglas is survived by his wife Yvette Malone; children Jeremy (Karen), Elizabeth, Arron (Larissa), Douglas (Shannon), and Joshua, as well as 10 beautiful grandchildren. Also survived by brothers Scott Rivers, Edward Rivers and Bert Hanft; uncles Larry (Barbara) Malone and Robert Malone; brothers-in-law Timothy Yatteau, Robert (Michelle) Travis and William (Angela) Travis ; many nephews, nieces, cousins and loved ones. Douglas was predeceased by his mother Patricia Rivers; grandmother Elizabeth Malone and uncle George Malone.

Douglas was born on March 28, 1954 in Rochester NY. Douglas served his country in the USMC from 1971-1974 and lived his life as a PROUD USMC vet through to the very end. Doug went on to marry Yvette. Together they built a happy home and raised 4 children. Through the years, Douglas enjoyed spending time with his family. He got up and worked hard every single day providing for his family, whether it be driving that oil truck, laying down his asphalt driveways or building his own paving business he could be proud of. He loved visiting Florida with Yvette to their favorite sandy hideaway where he could put his fishing line in the ocean and relax.

Douglas had many titles; Husband, Dad, Brother, Uncle, Friend...and he played each role so well. He has left such a long lasting mark on every person who had the pleasure of knowing him and learning from him.

"He is the only man who ever took me fishing" is just one of the many memories that will never be forgotten. He left a mark on this world that will be carried on forever. Douglas will be deeply missed by so many especially his loving family, AND HE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN because of the memories and wisdom he so willingly passed down!  We love you, always and forever, Semper Fi!

More than a nephew, You were raised as my brother. We have stood together, side by side for your entire lifetime. My loss is great, not only for you, my nephew, but for my life long friend and brother- Love Uncle Larry
