Floyd K. French of Wheeler, NY was called home by God to join his beloved wife, Nancy on November 6, 2024, at the age of 87 surrounded by his loving family. Floyd was born to Marshall and Elma (Crane) French on April 10, 1937.
Floyd served honorably in the Navy Reserves. When Floyd wasn’t working he could be found in his shop making beautiful wood heirlooms for wife, children and grandchildren. Floyd also had a passion for reading, crocheting and the New York Yankees. Floyd also helped Nancy with organizing/making crafts for bazaars and preparing dinners for St Thomas Episcopal Church in Bath and St James Episcopal Church in Hammondsport.
Floyd was a man of God with a gentle soul. He always put others first and lead by example. He loved his family and pets fiercely. He lived by a code of honor: God, family and country. These are values he instilled in his children and grandchildren. Floyd was the quiet strength behind his family. His kindness, loving ways and strength will continue on through those he knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed.
Floyd is predeceased by his parents Marshall and Elma; his loving wife of 67 years Nancy; his four brothers, Howard, Donald, Harold, and Robert.
Floyd is survived by his loving children, Father James (Virginia) French of Niverville, NY, Cynthia Lamphier of Lima, NY, Lori (Thomas) Link of Dansville, NY, Sara (Stephen) Denham-Brush of Rochester, NY; grandchildren Matthew (Katlyn) Link, Jennifer Link, Andrew French, Adam (Rachel) French, Jeffrey Lamphier and Mary Lamphier; three great granddaughters, one great grandson and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 10:30 am at St. James Episcopal Church in Hammondsport NY, luncheon to follow.
