Jacqueline Marie Lindauer, 69, of Rochester, NY, passed away peacefully in the presence of family May 11, 2023.
Born in Buffalo, NY, Jacqueline devoted her life to helping others. She had a passion for problem solving and advocating for adults and children with developmental disabilities. She worked with the ARC of Albany, NY, Unity House in Troy, NY, Mary Cariola Children’s Center in Rochester, NY and for the past 25 years with the Community Consultation Program at the Strong Center for Developmental Disabilities at the University of Rochester.
Throughout her life, Jacqueline loved unconditionally, lived bravely, and gave generously to those around her. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading, sewing, hiking, camping, kayaking, and traveling. Jacqueline had a passion for genealogy and an unwavering desire to uncover the stories of her ancestors, piecing together the puzzle of her family’s history.
Jacqueline is survived by her loving husband, Michael Thompson, children, Jennifer (Matthew Duffy) Lindauer-Thompson, Alicia (Daniel Fishman) Lindauer; and grandchildren, Sierra, Makaila, Owen, and Skyler. Daughter of the late Dolores A. (nee Guthrie) and George E. Lindauer; sister of Susan (late Joseph) Ralicki; John Lindauer; and the late Michele (Joseph Fancher) Lindauer. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and dear friends. Her caring disposition will be greatly missed.
Friends and family will gather for a celebration of life Saturday morning, July 29th in Rochester, NY.
