Jean Sweetland of Churchville, NY, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025 at age 95. Jean is predeceased by her husband Charles Sweetland. She is survived by her children Bill (Jane) Sweetland and Steve Sweetland; grandchildren Alex (Tori) Sweetland and Nick Sweetland; nieces, nephews and many friends collected over 95 years including childhood friends, neighbors, former neighbors, church family, clothespin doll collectors, and those she met over many years working as an historical interpreter and often spinning wool at the Genesee Country Village and Museum.
The family would like to thank everyone who took the time to reach out with prayers, support, and shared memories during Jean’s hospitalization.
To the friends and family she appreciated so much, celebrate a life well lived...sit down with a chocolate covered cherry and your favorite hot beverage (hers was black coffee of course). For the total Jean experience, have an Agatha Christie book (And Then There Were None) at your side and Gunsmoke on the TV, or watch the Bills and that cute Josh Allen!
95 memorable years...we should all be so lucky.
A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. Family and friends wishing to make a memorial donation, may do so to the Genesee Country Village and Museum in her memory.
