John D. Nash Obituary

John D. Nash, of Canandaigua, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Sunday, March 15th, at the age of 77. Born in New Jersey, John spent most of his life in Upstate New York. He and his wife, Donna, built their life together in Borodino, NY, where they raised their two children and where John was a member of the Borodino United Methodist Church. Some of his happiest moments were spent with family on the shores of Skaneateles Lake, a place he held close to his heart.

John enjoyed a long and successful career in sales before embracing retirement with enthusiasm and curiosity. He found joy in woodworking, engraving, and exploring new hobbies. Above all, he loved cheering on his grandchildren from the sidelines of countless baseball, football, soccer, lacrosse, and softball games. Watching them grow, thrive, and become the young adults they are today was one of his greatest sources of pride.

He was predeceased by his parents, Orville and Marian Nash; his sister and brotherinlaw, Sara and Peter Souter; and his brother and sisterinlaw, Howard and Molly Nash.

John is survived by his wife of 52 years, Donna; his daughter, Katherine (Brian) Schor of Honeoye Falls, NY; his son, Benjamin (Julie) Nash of Milford, CT; his grandchildren, Addison and Austin Schor and Maxwell and Cameron Nash; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Honoring John’s wishes, there will be no formal services. His family will celebrate his life with a small gathering this summer.
