Juney M. Anderson was born on Friday May 20, 1966 in Rochester, NY to parents, Grace M. Anderson and Charles B. Smith.
Juney graduated from Jefferson High School in June 1983. From June 1983 to October 1987, Juneyjoined the New York Armory National Guard as a Radio Teletype Operator. After leaving the National Guard, Juney became employed by the City of Rochester as a Clerk III in November 1987. Over the years Juney moved to various departments while employed by the City of Rochester. After 34 years of dedicated service, she retired on February 25, 2022 from the Fire Chief’s Office. Juney enjoyed sleeping in and going at her own pace. She also enjoyed reading, listening to classic R&B songs, and spending time with her “darling 3” Jamaya, Ja’nyla and King.
Juney is predeceased by her dad Charles B. Smith and her mom Grace M. Anderson. Juney leaves to cherish her memory, her “favorite” daughter Toneisha Anderson and her “favorite” son Brandon Simpson. Known as Mooshie/ Mushie, she also has three grandchildren: Jamaya, Ja’nyla and King that she leaves behind and will miss her dearly. In addition to this, siblings Jimmy “J.R.” Redden, Tyrone “Ty” Anderson (Jinnie Anderson), Edmond “Ed” Anderson (Darlene Anderson), Cochita “Coty” Anderson; nieces Jacina Redden-Campbell( Maurice Campbell), Brittani Anderson, Saimoen Anderson, Jinelle Anderson, Gia Anderson; nephews Marvin Redden, Calvin Redden, Xavier Anderson, Tyrese Anderson, Maximus Anderson, T.C. Anderson, and a host of great nephews, great nieces, cousins, uncles, aunts and friends that will miss her presence. Special thanks to her girlfriends Phyllis Walker, Mimi Johnson and Retha Rogers.
