Lydia Vega Obituary

Lydia Vega, beloved wife of Gregory (Greg) Vega, passed away on February 27, 2024, in Rochester, New York, at the age of 74. She was born in Lares, Puerto Rico on September 1, 1949.

Lydia was a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who worked tirelessly until her retirement in 2009. She was a compassionate caregiver who touched the lives of many patients throughout her career.

Outside of work, Lydia had a variety of hobbies that brought her joy. She loved watching her favorite Novellas, playing BINGO, and spending quality time with her family. Lydia was a devoted mother to her three children, Francis Cordero, Lucette Cordero, and Edith Lugo.

Her legacy lives on through her 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, who meant the world to her. Lydia's family was always her top priority, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones.

Unfortunately, Lydia's life was cut short by lung cancer. Despite her illness, she remained strong and brave until the very end. Her resilience and determination will always be remembered by those who knew and loved her.

Lydia Vega will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends, as they remember the loving and kind-hearted woman she was.

Psalms 23:

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
