Died peacefully on January 27, 2023, at age 78. Predeceased by his wife Crescencia and parents Henry and Eleanor Hanford. Survived by his son Raymond (Diana) Hanford, grandchildren Eleanor and Anthony, siblings Harry (Cindy) Hanford, Barbara (Mike) Hanna, Shae (Bill Lindenfelser) Hanford, Beau (Janet) Hanford, Liz (Charles) Aldridge, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Rich was a loving husband, father, and Papa. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Rich was a gentleman and gentle soul, with his smile and warm eyes, who always put others before himself. He was very easygoing and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He was an avid tennis player who enjoyed dancing and biking. Rich was a graduate of McQuaid and Georgetown University. He was a veteran and an advocate for peace. And while a Maryknoll brother, served two years as a missionary in Chile.
Friends and family are invited to a Funeral Mass on Friday, February 3rd beginning at 10 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 533 Humboldt Street, Rochester, NY 14610. Following Mass, the family invites you to join them for a coffee hour at the church to celebrate and remember Richard.
