Predeceased by his parents, Thomas & Alice Fleming Marion; wife, Michele P. Marion. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Margaret Albert and her family; daughter, Elizabeth A. Marion and her husband Thorvald Jensen; son, Peter O. Marion and fiancée Lisa Chak; grandchildren, Odin, Galen, and Maia Jensen; many dear cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Dick was a 1969 graduate of Cardinal Mooney H.S. and a 1973 graduate of Stonehill College in Massachusetts, where just last year he attended his 50th reunion and enjoyed a wonderful time reacquainting with old friends. He was also a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, where he obtained his master’s degree in Statistics and Applied Mathematics. Dick was a 42-year employee of the Rochester Gas & Electric company, serving in many roles over the course of his career. After retirement, Dick and Margaret enjoyed traveling the world together, but some of their favorite adventures were picnics at the many waterfalls here in New York state.
Dick loved sports, especially skiing, golf, and fishing. He enjoyed his classic car collection and simply taking them out for a drive throughout the streets of Rochester. Dick’s passion in the last seven years of his life was his extensive garden and landscaping projects, which included having a portion of his property in Irondequoit certified by the National Wildlife Federation.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Those wishing to contribute are encouraged to make a donation in Dick’s memory to the American Cancer Center .
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Joshua Jones and his team at the Lipson Cancer Institute at Rochester Regional Health for their tremendous care and compassion.
