On July 16, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Faye; and his children, Sheri (Louis) Harris, Diana (Sam Abdalla) St. John and Robert (Christine) St. John; stepson Jacob (Maggie) Zoll. He was also proud “Pop" to his grandchildren Sydney, Morgan, Tyler, Tré, Sammy, Barrett & Parker and great granddaughter Alayah. Bob is also survived by his mother-in-law Elaine Domenick; sisters-in-law Dolly (Brian) Simon and Phyllis (Chris) Marshall; nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Bob is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Betty St. John; sisters Ronna (Hank) Bialek and Donna Pitonack; as well as his grandson RJ.
During his career as a Professional Truck Driver, Bob was selected as a Captain of the America’s Road Team, representing the American Trucking Association, who all referred to him as "Captain America." He enjoyed a career spanning more than 35 years, accumulating more than 2.5 million accident free miles as a truck driver. Bob’s knowledge of highway safety and his own personal safety record led to a role as Safety Supervisor before retiring. He was also a proud Veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1968 - 1974. His favorite role was as father and grandfather. He loved his family and always participated in their lives and activities. Bob enjoyed parties and loved to dance. He also loved sitting on his porch, enjoying the scenic views of Canandaigua Lake. He had a wonderful laugh that his family will miss dearly.
Friends and family are invited to call on Monday July 22, 2024 from 5 - 7 PM at James R. Gray Funeral Home, 1530 Buffalo Road, Rochester, NY 14624. In lieu of flowers, Kindly consider a donation to the Wilmot Cancer Institute's Sands Cancer Center at FF Thompson Hospital. in Bob's Memory.
