Sharon Siegel Obituary

It is with profound sadness that the family of Sharon Ann Siegel announces her unexpected, but peaceful passing on Thursday, June 23rd, 2022, at the age of 57 years.

Sharon was born on December 23rd, 1964, in Rochester New York, graduated from the School without Walls, earned an associate degree from Monroe Community College, and pursued her bachelor's degree at SUNY Brockport. While Sharon went to school and spent much of her adult life in Rochester, her love of 'The Coast' brought her to California where she enjoyed the endless beaches, and calming waves of the Pacific Ocean and loved to gaze at, and dream, while the sun was setting on the horizon. She spent time in Northern California (Bay Area) and eventually worked her way south, to Sunny San Diego.

Survived by her loving mother Ruth Siegel, and her pride and joy, adoring son Daniel Siegel, brother Lee (Debra) Siegel, niece Richelle (Geoffrey) Howell, nephew Justin (Linzey) Siegel, and great-nieces Jaden MaryJane and Mila Olive. We know that Sharon is enveloped by the love of her predeceased father Bernard "Bernie" Siegel and Zoe, her adoring Black Labrador that always brought joy, smiles, and laughter to Sharon's home.

Sharon grew up in Irondequoit, with the family home a short walk from Seneca Park, where she loved visiting the Zoo and learned to swim at the community pool, making swimming in any body of water her favorite thing to do. Sharon's kindness and desire to help others guided her education and brought her to DePaul, working in a Group Home, helping client-residents with life skills. Sharon was an avid reader, which consumed much of her days. She was an introspective writer, loved many forms of art, and had a love of contemporary music, and dancing. She had an amazing memory for the lyrics and music from the 80s, which made for great conversation and was always entertaining. Sharon was looking forward to once again living close to her son and mother in San Diego. Sharon's family plans to find a perfect ocean-facing spot for rest and reflection along 'The Coast', to place a bench for all to stop and enjoy the peaceful and always inspiring view, which meant so much to Sharon.
