Thomas N. "Tommy" VanHove

Thomas N. "Tommy" VanHove passed from this life to eternal life with Christ on June 4, 2026.

Tom worked for the City of Rochester for over 31 years, as the Assistant Operations Supervisor, providing the dedicated services that our city enjoys. He was also passionate about glass repair and was the owner & operator of Commercial Glass Service in Rochester. Tom enjoyed visiting the Adirondack Mountains, as well as Deerfield Beach, Florida and surrounding areas. He also enjoyed road trips, rock & roll, and especially "Bob Seger, Baby!" Tom was known by friends, coworkers and family as a harborer of fascinating footnotes, a collector of mental knickknacks, custodian of forgotten facts and a scholar of the overlooked. He was a provider, protector, mentor, visionary and "keeper of Snapple facts."

Tom was raised by "Granny," Esther V. (Kellogg) VanHove and “Grandpa”, Harold V. VanHove, both of whom predeceased him. He is also predeceased by his "Mama" Dorothy (Goodenough) Bickley and her husband Virgil Bickley. He is survived by his daughter at heart, Kelly Masetta; sons at heart, Patrick Rohr and Steve Masetta; daughter; grandchildren, and brothers at heart, Albert Marrapese, Bob McKowski, Frank McGrath, Laurie & Rod, Rob Faulkner, Bob Graves, Jim Moorhouse, John Vespa, Rahul Kohli, Bob Malone, "Rock", "Pinson" and "Turk." 

Tom was a “philanthropist whose generosity was limitless.” He loved Jesus, his family and his friends with every beat of his heart; and the hole he leaves behind will never be filled. "GONE ARF"

A Celebration of Tom's Legacy will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 from 2:30 - 6:30 PM at Ontario Golf Club, located at 2101 Country Club Lane, Ontario, NY 14519.
