Vicky L. Rose, 68, Gouverneur NY, passed away on August 1, 2024 at the Rochester General Hospital after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Vicky was born on June 30, 1956, to Rosemary and Kenneth Rose in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. She lived in several places over the course of her 68 years, but her true home was always in the charming town of Gouverneur. She was a special education teacher for most of her professional career. Her passions included sewing, scrapbooking, baking, watching anything with Jason Momoa, and spoiling her grandchildren with gifts as much as possible.
Vicky is predeceased by her parents Kenneth and Rosemary.
She is survived by two siblings Thomas and Heather Rose and Deborah and George Serviss; four children, Jeanne Peacock, Greg and Rachel Besaw, Danielle and Matthew Hanson and Megan and Ian Vanderbrook; ten grandchildren Carson, Lauren, Brayden, Bella, Lola, Jeremiah, Henley, Maverick, Allison, and Adam, five nieces and nephews, Nicole, Heather, Rebecca, Christopher, and Lucas; as well as her loyal companion, Buttercup.
In lieu of services at this time, a celebration of life will be held on November 24, 2024 12pm - 4pm at the Gouverneur Community Center at 4673 State Highway 58. Donations in memory of Vicky may be made to the St. Lawrence Cancer Fund, PO Box 291, Canton NY 13617.
