Vivian (Burger) Robinson Obituary

Vivian (Burger) Robinson, 100, died peacefully on February 16, 2026, in Rochester, New York. Born on November 17, 1925, to Herman and Doretta Burger, she grew up in Poag’s Hole, New York, and went on to graduate from the University of Buffalo nursing school. She married Theron E. Robinson on May 30, 1947, and together they settled in Howard, New York, where she began a long and dedicated career in nursing. Over the years she worked in various nursing roles before joining Westinghouse as an industrial nurse, caring for workers with the same steady commitment she brought to every part of her life.

In 1955, Vivian and Theron bought a farm in Prattsburgh, New York, where she balanced the demands of farm life, her nursing career, and raising a family with quiet strength and determination. They retired to Florida around 1977, eventually making their home in Weirsdale, Florida, where she enjoyed many years of sunshine and a slower pace. In 2018, Vivian returned to New York and lived in Canandaigua before her final days in Rochester. She loved nature, finding peace in the outdoors, whether it was the fields of the farm, the Florida landscape, or simply sitting outside and taking in the world around her.

Vivian was hard working and deeply devoted to her family, always putting their needs and well‑being at the center of her life. She loved dancing and music, and she carried that joy with her across the decades, whether at family gatherings, community events, or simple moments at home. Her warmth, resilience, and quiet sense of fun left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan and Cheryl; her longtime family ward, Jack Drumm; four grandchildren; and five great‑grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theron, and her parents, Herman and Doretta. A celebration of Vivian’s life will be held at a later date, when family and friends will gather to share memories and honor a long life well lived.
